Three teenage boys killed by car near Hayes bus stop

Three teenagers were killed when they were hit by a car while waiting near a bus stop in west London on Friday.
The three, who were all aged about 16, died at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed, the Metropolitan Police said.
The crash happened just after 20:30 GMT on Shepiston Lane, Hayes, close to a petrol station.
A 28-year-old man, who was in an Audi involved in the crash, was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment.
Other teenagers who were standing with the boys were uninjured.
Police have said the incident is not being treated as terror-related.
Jane Shaw, from the Met's serious collision investigation unit, said: "There are horrific circumstances that have resulted in three young people losing their lives."

Oprah highlights story of black woman raped by white men

Oprah  Winfrey shared the spotlight with another woman in her speech accepting a lifetime achievement award at the  Golden Globes  on Sunday night. Recy Taylor has not been a well-known figure, but Winfrey's touching on her story and a new documentary are bringing attention to an incident of racial injustice and sexual violence in the Jim Crow South. Taylor, who died on Dec. 29 at the age of 97, was the victim of a violent rape as a young woman. In 1944, Taylor was 24 years old and walking home from church in Abbeville, Alabama, when she was abducted and raped by six white men. Some accounts say seven white men were involved. She was left on the side of the road by her attackers.
