Golden Globes speeches continue conversation about sexual misconduct

When the winners took the stage at the 75th annual Golden Globes Sunday night, many of their acceptance speeches touched on taking a stand against sexual misconduct and gender inequality in Hollywood.
The evening began as many of Hollywood's A-listers walked the red carpet wearing all black.
It was a directive made by a new campaign called Time's Up, which hopes "to shift the focus back to survivors and on systemic, lasting solutions" to sexual violence, a note from the organizers on Facebook ahead of the red carpet read.
But onstage, their messages continued.

A German teenager who stabbed to death his neighbour's nine-year-old son and then killed an ex-school friend while on the run has been jailed for life. Marcel Hesse, now 20, lured the boy to his basement in the town of Herne last March, stabbing him 52 times. Turpin case: California couple deny torturing 'shackled siblings'

The parents accused of holding their 13 children in shackles at a California home have pleaded not guilty. David Turpin, 56, and Louise Turpin, 49, are facing charges of torture, abuse and false imprisonment. They were arrested after their daughter escaped from their home where police found some of her siblings shackled and severely malnourished. The children, who are aged between two and 29 , have been treated in hospital since being freed on Monday. Mr Hestrin said that the couple had allegedly punished their children by tying them up - first using ropes and later chaining them to their beds with padlocks. He said the alleged punishments would last weeks or months, and intensified over time. Prosecutors said circumstantial evidence showed the children were not released from their chains to go to the toilet.
