Two dead and 116 injured in US passenger and freight train collision

Two people have died and 116 are injured after two trains collided in the US state of South Carolina.
An Amtrak service travelling between New York and Miami with 139 passengers and eight staff on board hit a CSX freight train, the Lexington Sheriff said.
The two deceased were Amtrak personnel.
The collision occurred near Charleston Highway and Pine Ridge Road, in Cayce, authorities said.
Several injured passengers were seen walking along the tracks after being evacuated, according to reports on social media.
The state's governor said 116 people were taken to hospital with injuries following the crash which happened at 2.30am local time (7.30am in the UK).

A police spokesman said the injuries ranged from "scratches to more severe broken bones" but could not say whether any were life-threatening.
He added that no passengers or crew remained on the train. The Red Cross has set up a reception site at a nearby school.
Passenger Derek Pettaway told Sky News he was travelling south from Philadelphia to Orlando in a sleeper cabin when he was awoken by the impact of the crash.
He said Amtrak staff evacuated passengers in a "really calm fashion" and added: "It's all very calm here. The Red Cross is here and everybody is being taken care of."
In a statement, the company said: "Amtrak Train 91 between New York and Miami came into contact with a CSX freight train at around 2.35am in Cayce, South Carolina.
"There were eight crew members and approximately 139 passengers, with injuries reported. Local authorities are on the scene responding. More information will be provided as available."
Donald Trump praised the emergency services and said his thoughts were with all the victims involved.
The President tweeted: "My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims of this morning's train collision in South Carolina. Thank you to our incredible First Responders for the work they've done."
The collision is the firm's fifth crash this year and the fourth that resulted in deaths or injuries.
The accident comes days after an Amtrak train carrying several dozen Republican politicians, including US House speaker Paul Ryan, collided with a bin truck in Virginia, killing one person and injuring six others, including a congressman.
